 St. Anthony’s College TIGERS to fly National Colours in Colombia

St. Anthony’s College has been selected by Coca-Cola to participate and represent Trinidad and Tobago in the Regional International Copa Coca-Cola Under 15 Football Tournament to be held in Bogota, Colombia from October 18th 2012 to October 22nd 2012. At this competition, St. Anthony’s TIGERS would compete against Guatemala, Honduras and the  Dominican Republic.

To that end, training and try-outs began in  early August 2012 and a team was later chosen and registered to participate in the Under 16 Division of the Secondary Schools Football League.

The TIGERS Under 16, also known as the 2012 Under 15 Colombia Team, drew its first match against Fatima College 1-1 and thereafter won all its matches in the North Zone Under 16 Division.  These victories included the North Zone Under 16 Finals against Queen’s Royal College with the TIGERS leading the score 2-0, thus  making the TIGERS Under 16 holders of the North Zone Under 16 League title.

With the wind in their sails, 2012 Colombia Team now look ahead excitedly with much confidence to their Tour of Colombia. Accompanying them would be Mr. Nigel Grosvenor (Physical Education Teacher, Dean and Coach), Mr. Brian Smith (Assistant Coach) as well as officials from Coca-Cola (Trinidad) Limited and the Secondary Schools Football League.

The Colombia Team comprise the following students/players of St. Anthony’s College:-

Adriel Kerr (as captain); Carlton Alfonso, Niclolas Moyou, Shem Clauzel, Jules Lee, Matthaeus Granger, Jediael Harewood, Kai Corbin, Emmanuel Bunting, Andrew Rullow, Nicholai Greene, Issac Hills, Raheem Borde, Chioke Brathwaite, Nicaya Mahon and Gyasi Moore.
